For over 50 years Guide Dogs Victoria (GDV) has been providing the very special form of mobility and companionship that a Guide Dog brings.  Their training enables clients from five to 95 years to walk out the door without fear of injury.

GDV receives no government funding for the breeding, training and provision of Guide Dogs. The limited funds, (approx 7% of total operational needs), that GDV receives from Government, contributes towards meeting some of the costs incurred in providing ongoing support, assessment, training and therapy, direct to GDV's clients, across all its programs and services.

The foundation carries on the work of the late Professor Fred Hollows, an eye doctor, a skilled surgeon of international renown, a champion of the right of all people to good health and a strong advocate for social justice.

The Fred Hollows Foundation focusses on blindness prevention internationally.  It is a non-profit organisation.
